Application and Enrollment Process

APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY MAY 1, 2020
Apply as soon as possible as spaces are limited. Applications are reviewed as they are received.

HOW TO APPLY:

1

Complete Online Application Form. The application form includes a 500 word personal statement that outlines your interest in this program and any relevant experience you have. Your statement should help us understand how this program will fit into your academic plans and why you will be a good fit.

2

Submit a copy of your unofficial transcript to Dr. Sarah Taylor
(sartaylor@csudh.edu)

3

Have a letter of recommendation sent to Dr. Sarah Taylor (by mail/campus mail or via sartaylor@csudh.edu) that discusses your academic potential and your preparedness for this field school.

4

Acceptance notifications are sent on a rolling basis as applications are received. You must reserve your place in the class/classes with a $250 non-refundable deposit within 10 days of confirmed acceptance along with the Student Contract and Home-stay Placement Survey [link to homestay placement survey]. Even if you are accepted, your space will not be reserved until you pay the deposit. Please email the student contract to Extended Education Registration (eereg@csudh.edu) and copy the program director, Dr. Sarah Taylor (sartaylor@csudh.edu) on all correspondences.

1st Payment to CSUDH due: March 1, 2020 ($1,850.00)

2nd Payment to CSUDH due: April 1, 2020 ($1,850.00)

5

Complete paperwork. The following forms must be submitted by April 1, 2020. All forms must be submitted to Racheal Wangui (wangui@csudh.edu) and copy the program director, Dr. Sarah Taylor (sartaylor@csudh.edu) on all correspondences.

We recommend that you purchase your plane ticket as soon as you know for certain you are enrolling the class; airfares tend to go up as summer approaches. We suggest using www.statravel.com or www.kayak.com to book your flight.

*** Passport Info: Make sure you have a valid passport as soon as possible! If you have a passport, make sure that it is valid through at least six (6) months after the program ends (or date you intend to return to the U.S.) (approx. December 20, 2020). If your passport will expire prior to that time, or if you need to obtain a passport you should apply for one as soon as possible, as processing can take 6-8 weeks. The cost increases if it's necessary to rush the processing.***

* Students who need a passport may schedule an appointment at CSUDH's Passport Hub office as soon as possible.
