Admitted First-Time, First-Year Student Checklist

Congratulations on your admission to California State University, Dominguez Hills! You’re one step closer to the fun, excitement, and opportunities you’ll only get as a Toro.   

Understanding your Conditional Admissions to CSUDH: Your conditional offer is dependent on meeting all admissions requirements by the end of Spring 2024 and meeting all enrollment deadlines. 

To make it official, complete each item on your admitted student checklist. Click on the + icon to view the instructions for each step.     

Mandatory Enrollment Requirements

STEP 1: Access MyCSUDH

Go to: Find MyCSUDH username and enter the required information to obtain your username. After securing your username, call the IT Help Desk at 310.243.2500, option 1, to establish your permanent password.

Applicants will be asked the following information from the IT Call Center to secure your password:

  • Full Name (First and Last Name)
  • Username
  • Student ID Number
  • Date of Birth (Day and Month only)

After securing your password, log on to your MyCSUDH student portal. On MyCSUDH, check your To Do List weekly and submit any requested documents.

STEP 2: Submit the Intent to Enroll Deposit

Fall 2024 Applicants

Starting January 2024, this step will become available to complete for Fall 2024 admitted students.

Accept admission and submit the non-refundable $125 Intent to Enroll Deposit on your student portal by June 15, 2024. This deposit will be applied to your Fall 2024 tuition.

STEP 3: Register for New Student Orientation (NSO)

Fall 2024 Admissions

Starting January 2024, this step will become available to complete for Fall 2024 admitted students.

Register and pay the non-refundable $99 New Student Orientation (NSO) Fee by June 15, 2024. Orientation dates are by college and payment must be cleared in order to secure your spot. NSO is a mandatory enrollment requirement so check your schedule before selecting a date.

STEP 4: Submit Final Transcripts

Fall 2024 Admissions

Submit your final official transcripts and documents by July 15, 2024.

To qualify for enrollment and financial aid, you must submit your final official high school transcript with your graduation date. For information on how to submit electronic transcripts, please visit

Admission decisions are based on self-reported information from your admission application. All students are conditionally admitted pending review of official transcripts to confirm that all eligibility requirements have been met. The following must be met in order to ensure your admission is not revoked, even if you meet all other requirements and have registered for classes:

  1. Complete Senior year courses as indicated on your admission application
  2. Maintain an overall admissible GPA
  3. Meet all enrollment deadlines

    STEP 1: Apply for Financial Aid

    Fall 2024 Admissions

    Apply for financial aid for the 2024-25 academic year by April 2, 2024.  

    Visit to to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Complete the FAFSA form to be considered for all types of state and federal aid, such as grants, work study, loans, and some scholarships. Visit to complete the California Dream Act Application. The California Dream Act allows undocumented & nonresident students who qualify for a non-resident exemption under Assembly Bill 540 (AB 540) to receive certain types of financial Aid. 

    Check your To Do List on the MyCSUDH Student Center and submit any documents needed to determine your eligibility by May 12, 2024. If your financial aid has been determined, an 'Offer' email will be sent to your ToroMail. Follow the instructions listed on the offer email to confirm your financial aid for the 2024-2025 academic school year (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025).

    STEP 2: Check Your Major

    The major you applied to is listed on your admissions email.

    Please note, you will be expected to attend New Student Orientation based on the major indicated on your admission email.

    STEP 3: Apply for Housing

    If you are interested in living on campus, please submit the $30 housing application beginning March 27, 2024. Only students who have submitted their Intent to Enroll Deposit and paid for New Student Orientation are eligible to apply for housing, because housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no guarantee that housing will be available if you wait until June 15 to submit the Intent to Enroll Deposit and register for New Student Orientation.

    STEP 4: Complete Directed Self-Placement - Fall 2024 Only

    Directed Self-Placement (DSP) is not a test. It includes reading two brief articles, writing a brief essay in response, and then taking a survey in which, you answer a short series of questions about your reading and writing habits. The survey will recommend which First Year Composition (FYC) course might best suit your needs, but you make the final course selection. 

    Login to Canvas and complete DSP by June 1, 2024. For more information, please visit
