NEH Awards CSUDH with Grant for Educator

The National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) Landmarks of American History and Culture awarded CSUDH the first ‘We the People Grant’ for California. In collaboration with the Dominguez Rancho Adobe Museum, the Center for Service Learning, and the History Department, 80 K-12 educators from across the nation were given the opportunity for direct experiences in the interpretation of significant historical and cultural sites such as the Adobe Museum and Mission San Gabriel, and the use of archival and other primary evidence through our own Dominguez Hills Archives. Landmarks Workshops enable participants to gain a sense of the importance of historical places, to make connections between what they learn in the Workshop and what they teach, and to develop enhanced teaching or research materials.
