Dr. Alireza Izaddoost is an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at CSUDH. In 2015, he received his Ph.D. in computer science from Ontario Tech in Canada. He joined CSUDH in 2018, previously working as an assistant professor at LSUS.

Artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, the Internet of Things, cloud security, and big data analytics are among his research interests. Because of the significance of AI, he expanded his research to create more intelligent security systems, such as intrusion detection systems and credit card fraud detection systems, using AI.

His current studies focus on securing systems using cloud computing and artificial intelligence applied to large datasets. The study of applying AI methods to big data using cloud platforms has become increasingly popular in recent years due to the significance of big data analytics in developing more dependable systems and improving cybersecurity. Because of the nature of big data, such as the required amount of space and computational resources, different methods and strategies need to be studied and developed to process the data as quickly as possible while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

In addition to conducting research, he teaches cybersecurity and big data analytics at CSUDH. Since 2020, he has been a faculty instructor at Google Tech Exchange in the applied data structures course. His primary goal is student success, and he actively participates in research with undergraduate and graduate students. He currently mentors one undergraduate student in the Cal-Bridge program and serves on committees or as the chair of graduate projects at CSUDH.
