Graduate Studies and Research

The Graduate Studies and Research (GSR) offices serve the CSUDH community with resources and infrastructure to achieve scholarly excellence throughleadership and support for graduate education and faculty and student research.

  • The Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) provides comprehensive pre-award and post-award management services to all CSUDH investigators. External funding carries with it a host of legislative guidelines and departmental, sponsor, and campus regulations that require concentrated monitoring. OSRP helps the CSUDH community achieve its educational mission by providing efficient and effective proposal submission and award management support for sponsored projects and related activities.

  • The Office of Research Development and Compliance houses the university's Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), which supports investigators to conduct their studies with the utmost attention to ethical practices in human and animal subjects research.

  • The Office of Graduate Studies provides comprehensive wraparound support for graduate students, programs, and faculty, with excellence in both faculty and student research being a cornerstone of the doctoral culture we are building at CSUDH. Our programs serve working students, with the majority of coursework being offered in the evening hours or online.

  • The Office of Student Research, which includes the McNair Scholars Program, Predoctoral Programs, and Undergraduate Research, provides workshops, training and professional development opportunities, and research-focused events for undergraduate and graduate student researchers and their faculty mentors.

Each Spring, GSR sponsors the annual Student Research Conference, with more than 300 undergraduate and graduate students presenting in 30 sessions over three days. Ten of the top-ranked student teams go on to compete in the statewide CSU Student Research Competition, where several Dominguez Hills students have earned top honors
