  • All amounts listed are per student.
  • Housing offers the following accommodation types to applicants:
    • Double occupancy 1-bedroom apartment = 2 total occupants per apartment.*
    • Double occupancy 2-bedroom apartment = 4 total occupants per apartment.*
    • Double occupancy 3-bedroom apartment = 6 total occupants per apartment.
    • Double occupancy residence hall room  = 2 total occupants per bedroom.
    • Triple occupancy residence hall room = 3 total occupants per bedroom.
    • Quadruple occupancy residence hall room = 4 total occupants per bedroom.

* Our 1- and 2-bedroom apartments are not expected to be open for 2021-22.

PLEASE NOTE - UPDATE AS OF 6/4/2021: Due to steadily improving public health conditions, and in accordance with Los Angeles County health and safety guidelines, all Fall 2021 Housing residents will be assigned to DOUBLE OCCUPANCY rooms in all accommodation types. All residence hall rooms will have two (2) occupants each, and all three-bedroom apartments will have up to six (6) occupants each (two per bedroom). Single occupancy rooms will only be available to students with special accommodation needs who are referred to Housing by the Student disAbility Resource Center (SdRC). Triple and quadruple occupancy rooms in the residence hall will not be offered until Spring 2022 at the earliest. Residence hall occupants will all be charged the same rate of $4,147 for Fall 2021 for a shared room, regardless of the room type or size. Please note that this rate applies to Fall 2021 ONLY, and that for Spring 2022, when we expect to offer triple and quadruple occupancy rooms, the rates listed for each room type on the 2021-22 Rate Sheet will apply. 

  • Academic Year applicants may pay their fees in one (1), two (2), or six (6) installments. Spring term applicants may pay their fees in one (1) or three (3) installments. Summer applications may pay their fees in one (1) or two (2) installments.
  • Please note: A mandatory, one-time installment fee is charged if you pay in more than one (1) installment for the Academic Year: $25 for two (2) installments, $50 for six (6) installments. New Spring applicants are charged $25 if they pay in three (3) installments. This fee is non-refundable.
  • All utilities (electricity, gas, and water) and wireless Internet service are included in the housing rate. 
  • A refundable $300 Security Deposit is also due before the start of occupancy. Please refer to the Application Checklist for more information on the deposit.
  • A non-refundable $25 Resident Student Association (RSA) Fee is charged to all confirmed residents with an assigned Housing space once per academic year. 

All fees are subject to change by the executive order of the Chancellor of the California State University and/or the CSUDH Administration.

 For Informational purposes only: In accordance with California Assembly Bill 990 California State University, Dominguez Hills provides the typical market cost of a one bedroom apartment in areas surrounding the campus.

  • 1 Bedroom/1 Bath: $1,700 -$1,800 per month

The Room and Board expenses included in the off-campus Cost of Attendance represent the typical costs students pay when enrolled at CSUDH.  Actual costs of room and board will vary. Many students living off-campus have roommates, which decreases their housing costs.
